Welcome and introduction
Start by looking through the Course Introduction. There are number of pages that you can access. Click through them on the top or use the arrows on the bottom of the page.
You can watch a short video introduction with the instructor. We also encourage you to introduce yourself.
Secondly, we would also like to ask you to take an anonymous pre-course survey to allow us to learn a bit more about you. In the survey, you can also assess what knowledge you already have that is relevant for this course.
Lastly, we provided some guidelines on how to use the discussion forum. Participation in the forum is completely voluntary, but it’s highly recommended to get the most out of this course.

As a student on ChM006x, you are part of a diverse learning community that is at the heart of a meaningful learning experience. Be it online or in person, a healthy learning community online starts with some basics:
Be respectful. Please respect your fellow students. Debate and pushing on ideas is part of a healthy and thriving learning community, but only when that is done in a polite and respectful manner. Insulting, condescending or abusive words will not be tolerated and will be reported and removed.
Be constructive. A learning community is about learning with and through engagement with one another. When commenting on others' projects, try to offer constructive feedback and suggestions that help them improve it.
Be sensitive. This is a global forum with participants from many different cultures and backgrounds. Be sensitive when discussing race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or controversial topics since others may be more sensitive about them than you are.
Post appropriately. Content that violates the Terms of Service is not permitted. You may not post inappropriate (eg. pornographic) or copyrighted content, advertise or promote outside products or organizations, or spam the forums with repeat content. ...Less
